dog-running-harness
Dog Running Harness for Canicross, Reflective Nylon

This dog running harness is built for the sports where your dog is supposed to pull: canicross, bikejoring, skijoring and sledding. Its long back straps lead to a rear ring that turns your dog's power into smooth, efficient traction, while reflective stitching keeps you both visible on the trail.

A harness designed to pull

Unlike a walking harness, a running harness for dogs that pull is meant to channel effort. The straps run along the body to a ring near the base of the tail, so the load is spread across the chest and sides rather than concentrated at one point. Your dog can lean into the line comfortably, stride after stride.

For which sports?

Canicross (running with your dog), bikejoring and scooter, skijoring and sledding all use the same principle: a towline between your dog's harness and your waist belt or vehicle. This harness suits all of them.

Durable nylon, visible on the trail

The harness is made of strong nylon webbing that rinses easily after muddy runs. Reflective stitching helps drivers and other trail users spot your dog early on winter mornings and in the woods at dusk.

Why the rear ring matters

On a walking harness, the leash attaches between the shoulder blades, which pulls upward when the dog leans forward. On this harness, the attachment point sits low at the back, so the line pulls in the same direction as your dog runs. The result is a more natural running posture and smoother traction over long distances.

Getting the fit right

Five sizes, from M to XXXL, cover medium dogs through to large working breeds such as huskies and shepherds. The harness should sit snugly on the chest without pressing on the shoulders, and the rear ring should reach the base of the tail when the line is taut. Adjust the straps so nothing twists while your dog runs.

Start your canicross journey

Pair the harness with a waist belt and a bungee towline, start with short runs on soft ground and increase the distance gradually. Keep this harness for sport sessions only: for everyday walks, a regular harness encourages calmer leash manners. After each run, rinse off mud and let it air dry.

Learning a few simple commands, such as left, right, slow and stop, makes every outing safer and more fun. Practice them on calm walks first, then use them on the trail.

Above all, enjoy the time spent running together.
